Please contact the Conference Accommodation and Travel Organizer to plan your programme. Shopping and sight seeing in Kandy can also be organized during the conference.
– The Inauguration Ceremony will commence at 6.15 pm followed by a dinner hosted by the National Science Council. This event will be held in the Regent Ball Room of The Earl’s Regency Hotel.
– Participants of the special event on Gap Analysis (sponsored by the Protected Area Management and Wildlife Conservation Project/Department of Wildlife Conservation) will be hosted to dinner at the Congress Hall of The Earl’s Regency Hotel. Registration for this event will be possible on site and is free of charge for conference participants who are registered for the entire conference.
– The National Science Foundation is hosting all the conference delegates to a special dinner which is preceded by a cultural show. This show will feature the world famous traditional Kandyan dancing and drumming. Some of the finest exponents of these art forms - and who participate in the Kandy Esala Perehara - are expected to participate. The dinner will be held at the Regent Ball Room of the Earl’s Regency Hotel. Dinner will commence at 8.00 pm.
- Interested participants will be able to visit the Sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy. Arrangements can be made for a guided visit to the Museum within the temple premises. Please register for this visit at least by 8th December on site for logistic reasons. Please note that there is a dress code for entering the temple. White or pale coloured clothing is preferable. Visitors are expected to be modestly dressed and ladies should wear long skirts and a top with sleeves or a saree. Shoes, shorts and skinnys (tops) are not permitted within the temple. There are also security requirements that have to be complied with.
