The Technical Advisory Committee invites participants who wish to organize roundtables and discussion sessions (after sessions during the conference).
Those wishing to organize a pre & post conference workshops rountables or discussion sessions as a theame consonant with the main areas of interest for the conference are requested to contact Ms Anusha Amarasinghe (anuama@nsf.ac.lk) as soon as possible. They should supply information on proposed title, a list of participants (where applicable), possible sponsors, and a brief write-up about how this will match up with the conference themes and one or more of the main areas of interest for the conference.
All Pre-conference workshops also require recommendation by the Technical and Organisational Advisory Committee. A short summary of workshops, rountables, panal discussions or discussion group findings (to be provided by the organizer) will be published in the conference proceedings. All documentation and materials will have to be provided by the workshop organizers. Logistic support for the workshops will be provided by the conference organizers upon request and depending on the exact nature of assistance required and facilities available. Any participant registered at the conference can participate at the pre-conference workshops (free of charge) by contacting the respective organizer who will forward the names to the conference secretariat.
As time is limited (one day), it will be possible to organize a limited number of pre-conference workshops. So please contact us early if you are interested in organizing such an event.
Notification of pre-conference workshops:
Once a request by workshop is finalized, the topic, name and contact details of the organizer will be made available on the web. Facilities for registration at workshops will be made available on the web as well as at the conference – if there are vacancies.
Roundtables/Discussion sessions/Panal discussion
The roundtables will be informal discussions held among peers either during breakfast, lunch or dinner or after sessions end before dinner. Each roundtable will have about 10-15 participants and is expected to last no longer than 1.5 hrs. The themes could correspond to the topics given by us in the conference overview page or could be suggested to the conference organizers by an interested facilitator.
Any participant at the conference can register for participation at the roundtable or discussion session (free of charge).
Prospective roundtable/discussion session/panal discussion facilitators should submit a short title for the topics they would like to discuss at these events, identifing the conference interests to which this discussion will contribute.
Submission of definite requests for roundtables to the Technical Advisory Committee can be made from 15th August 2006. Inquiries can be made using anuama@nsf.ac.lk.
Registration
Individuals who register for the conference may seek to serve as a facilitator of a roundtable. Please note that the conference will not have complimentary registration or reimburse travel and accommodations for facilitators of roundtables or discussion session.
