The Travel Grant Scheme was established with the objective of providing financial assistance to promoting scientists to present their research findings at overseas scientific meetings. At present the scope of the scheme has been expanded to cover travel to attend scientific meetings /conferences/workshops/short term training programmes/discussions on joint research programmes on the basis of three geographical regions. (i.e. SAARC, Asia-Pacific and Africa-Europe regions). The assistance granted may cover full support (airfare, subsistence and registration) or partial expenses, depending on the age, venue and whether a NSF grantee or not. For eligibility for full support, an applicant should:
- Be below the sage of 35 years (category A) or,
- Attend a meeting held in the SAARC region or,
- Present the findings of a study carried out on a research grant.
